Financial Controller

Job Description

Role Overview:

Manage financial strategy, investor communications, financial analysis, and governance. The role involves supporting leadership with financial modelling, valuations, risk analysis, and due diligence, while ensuring strong relationships with investors and stakeholders and maintaining financial control.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Investor Relations

• Manage communication between the company and current/potential investors.
• Prepare investor presentations, financial reports, and performance updates.
• Analyze financial performance and explain results to investors.
• Support fundraising, capital raising, and investment discussions.
• Coordinate investor meetings, earnings calls, and board presentations.

2. Stakeholder Management

• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including investors, lenders, auditors, and management.
• Provide financial insights to help stakeholders make strategic decisions.
• Ensure transparent financial communication across departments.

3. Financial Modelling

• Build and maintain financial models for:
• Revenue projections
• Cash flow forecasts
• Scenario and sensitivity analysis
• Support strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Develop models for mergers, acquisitions, fundraising, and expansion plans.

4. Due Diligence

• Lead or support financial due diligence during:
• Mergers & acquisitions
• Investment rounds
• Strategic partnerships
• Review financial statements, tax compliance, and financial risks.
• Coordinate with legal, tax, and advisory teams.

5. Business Valuation

• Perform company valuations using methods such as:
• Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
• Comparable company analysis
• Precedent transactions
• Support investment decisions and negotiations.
• Prepare valuation reports for investors and management.

6. Risk Management

• Identify financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and internal controls.
• Monitor financial exposure and compliance requirements.

7. Finance Controller Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting and accounting operations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Improve financial processes and controls.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of corporate finance and financial analysis
• Advanced financial modelling (Excel / financial tools)
• Understanding of valuation techniques
• Knowledge of M&A transactions and due diligence
• Excellent stakeholder and investor communication skills
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability
