Job Description
Job Purpose
To ensure compliance, inspection, documentation, and quality assurance of all electrical materials used in the projects, including adherence to project specifications, codes, and standards. The role supports vendor evaluation, FAT/SAT processes, and quality audits, while ensuring all electrical materials meet prescribed technical and quality requirements.
Key Responsibility Areas
Objective Key Responsibilities (OKRs)
- Conduct quality control inspections for electrical materials including cables, switchgear, transformers, panels, CT/PT, earthing materials, etc.
- Review and approve vendor documents, material submittals, type test reports, and routine test certificates.
- Monitor vendor compliance with project specifications, quality plans, and client requirements.
- Maintain all quality records including MIRs, FAT reports, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and third-party inspection agencies for inspections, testing, and clarifications.
- Support internal and external quality audits across project locations.
- Perform verification of test certificates, calibration records, and compliance reports.
- Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for major electrical equipment.
- Ensure all testing activities (cables, transformers, panels, protection systems) follow IS/IEC/IEEE standards.
- Ensure 100% compliance with the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
- Complete vendor inspections and FAT activities within scheduled timelines.
- Achieve zero NCRs (NonConformance Reports) from major audits.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate quality documentation and reports.

- Accuracy and completeness of material inspection documentation.
- Timely processing of vendor approvals and inspections.
- Compliance with applicable IS/IEC/IEEE standards.
- Audit performance and NCR closure timelines.
- Stakeholder coordination efficiency (OEMs, vendors, engineering teams).

- Adherence to Company Quality Management System (QMS).
- Compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Supporting cross-functional teams for seamless material flow and inspections.

Job Qualifications and Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 35 years of experience in electrical material quality control in infrastructure / industrial / power sector projects.
- Experience in large infrastructure, substation, switchyard, or renewable energy projects preferred.
- Hands-on experience with inspection, FAT, SAT, vendor assessment, and material documentation.
Education and Certifications
- B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Interpersonal Skills - Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and vendors.
- Good communication and coordination capabilities.
Attitude | Key Competencies
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical capability.
- Quality-focused mindset with strong adherence to standards.
- Proficiency in ERP, QMS software, MS Excel; Primavera exposure preferred.
- Strong understanding of IS/IEC/IEEE codes and electrical standards.
