Civil Engineer - Solar Projects

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of solar power projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with specific experience in renewable energy projects, particularly solar power. This role involves designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of solar installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities Project Planning and Design

Site Assessment : Conduct thorough site evaluations to determine the suitability of locations for solar installations, including topography, soil conditions, and environmental factors.

Design Development : Develop and review civil engineering designs and plans for solar power projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, foundations, and structural supports.

Collaboration : Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate civil engineering aspects into the overall project design.

Construction Management

Oversight : Oversee the construction of solar power systems, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Monitoring : Monitor and inspect work at construction sites to ensure adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Issue Resolution : Resolve any design or construction issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Regulatory Compliance

Documentation : Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and zoning laws.

Permitting : Prepare and submit necessary documentation and reports to obtain permits and approvals for construction activities.

Quality Assurance

Implementation : Implement quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and durability of the civil engineering components of the solar projects.

Inspections : Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify the quality of materials and workmanship.

Cost Management

Budgeting : Develop project budgets and cost estimates for civil engineering components.

Monitoring : Monitor and control project costs, identifying and addressing any deviations from the budget.

Collaboration and Communication

Teamwork : Work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and other team members to ensure cohesive project execution.

Stakeholder Communication : Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth project progress.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Experience : Proven experience in civil engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects, particularly solar power installations.

Skills :

Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design tools.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations related to civil engineering and renewable energy.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Attributes

Certifications : Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
