Job Description

To supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of new medical and biomedical equipment in the hospital.
To ensure preventive maintenance and periodic servicing of all medical equipment as per manufacturer recommendations.
To inspect and maintain equipment used in departments such as ICU, Operation Theatre (OT), Laboratory, Radiology, Dialysis Unit, and Wards.
To promptly attend to equipment breakdowns or technical faults and ensure timely repair and restoration of services.
To maintain detailed records of equipment inventory, service history, maintenance logs, and calibration certificates.
To coordinate with equipment vendors, service engineers, and suppliers for repair, warranty claims, and annual maintenance contracts (AMC/CMC).
To ensure that all biomedical equipment complies with safety standards, quality guidelines, and statutory requirements applicable to healthcare institutions.
To assist hospital administration in procurement, evaluation, and technical assessment of new medical equipment.
To provide basic training and guidance to doctors, nurses, and technicians regarding proper operation and handling of medical equipment.
To ensure availability of necessary spare parts, accessories, and consumables required for equipment maintenance.
To prepare periodic reports regarding equipment status, maintenance schedules, and technical issues for submission to hospital management.
To coordinate during emergency or critical equipment failures to ensure uninterrupted patient care services.
To perform any other duties assigned by the hospital administration from time to time in the interest of hospital operations.Role & responsibilities
