Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mid-Level Accountant to manage end-to-end financial operations for a Logistics freight forwarding company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, handling taxation, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Good Understanding of Finance, Manage internal Financial Accounting.
• Responsible for Finalization of books and preparation of financial reports
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
• Reconcile bank statements, ledgers.
• Monitor financial transactions related to operations, shipping costs, and vendor payments.

2. Taxation & Compliance

• Handle GST, TDS, and other statutory tax filings
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns
• Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Manage invoicing for freight services and logistics operations
• Track receivables and follow up on outstanding payments
• Verify and process vendor invoices and payments.

4. Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
• Analyse variances and provide insights for cost control
• Support management in financial decision-making.

5. Industry-Specific Accounting

• Handle accounting for freight forwarding transactions including:

o Shipment billing

o Freight cost allocation

o Duty, clearing, and forwarding expenses

• Maintain proper documentation for import/export transactions

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 26 years of relevant accounting experience (preferably in logistics or freight forwarding)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with GST, TDS, and tax compliance
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
