Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounts
Location: Mahape, Navi Mumbai
Segment: Manufacturing
Role Purpose
The role will be responsible for leading finance operations for the Mahape plant, ensuring strong financial controls, inventory accuracy, cost monitoring, statutory compliance, and timely MIS reporting. The position will work closely with plant operations, procurement, supply chain, and leadership teams to ensure financial discipline and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Financial Management
- Lead all finance and accounting activities for the Mahape plant.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper accounting of plant transactions.
- Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with company policies.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification with stores teams.
- Track raw material consumption and yield variances.
- Analyze production costs and plant cost efficiency.
Plant MIS & Business Reporting
- Prepare and analyze plant MIS including production run, cost run, and yield reports.
- Support monthly financial closing including provisions, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Track freight costs and production-related expenses.
Vendor & Purchase Finance
- Oversee vendor payments, reconciliations, and purchase accounting.
- Monitor plant expenses and ensure adherence to budgets.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and statutory regulations.
- Support statutory audits and internal audits related to plant finance.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Partner with plant head, production, procurement, and supply chain teams.
- Provide financial insights to improve plant efficiency and cost control.
Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com in Finance & Accounting
- MBA Finance would be advantage
- CA Inter / CMA Inter preferred but not mandatory
Experience
- 7-10 years experience in finance within a manufacturing plant
- Experience handling plant finance independently or as second-in-command
Skills
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and plant costing
- Experience with GST, TDS, and statutory compliance
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel
- Ability to work closely with operations and plant teams
