Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Recovery & Collections
- Handle legal recovery matters related to used car loan portfolios.
- Initiate and monitor legal actions against default borrowers.
- Coordinate with collection teams for recovery strategies.
- Manage repossession, surrender, auction, and settlement cases.
- Support recovery under applicable laws and contractual provisions.
2. Litigation Management
- Handle consumer, civil, criminal, arbitration, and recovery cases.
- Coordinate with panel advocates and law firms.
- Prepare legal notices, replies, affidavits, petitions, and complaints.
- Track court cases and ensure timely filing of documents.
3. SARFAESI & Regulatory Compliance
- Advise business and collections teams on legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure recovery actions comply with RBI guidelines and internal policies.
- Monitor legal risks and provide mitigation measures.
4. Documentation & Legal Audit
- Vet loan agreements and security documents.
- Review legal documentation for used vehicle financing.
- Conduct legal audits and identify documentation gaps.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with courts, police authorities, advocates, repossession agencies, and internal teams.
- Provide legal opinions to business, credit, operations, and collections departments.
- Manage advocate empanelment and legal vendor performance.
6. MIS & Reporting
- Maintain litigation and recovery MIS.
- Report legal recoveries, pending cases, and high-risk matters to management.
- Monitor legal expenses and advocate billing.
