Job Description
Position: Manager Finance, India
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Book Closure
• Oversee end-to-end accounting for the unit, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Drive monthly book closure within defined timelines with proper provisions, reconciliations, and
supporting schedules.
• Review ledger scrutiny, expense classification, and revenue accounting.
• Ensure proper accounting of inventory, production costs, and overhead allocations.
2. Compliance & Statutory Requirements
• Manage and review monthly statutory compliances including:
• GST returns preparation and Filling, reconciliations, and input credit verification,
• TDS deductions, filings (filing is handled by the auditor; therefore, it is not necessary.), and reconciliation
with books
• Income tax compliance and related workings
• Coordinate and support Statutory Audit and GST Audit, including preparation of schedules,
reconciliations, and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax laws, and internal financial controls.
3. Inventory & Manufacturing Controls
• Conduct quarterly inventory audits and stock verification in coordination with plant/store teams.
• Monitor inventory valuation, slow-moving stock, and variance analysis.
• Ensure proper accounting of production consumption, wastage, and cost tracking.
• Strengthen systems around material accounting and physical vs. book reconciliation.
4. Financial Supervision & Process Governance
• Supervise the work of the accounting team (3 accountants), ensuring:
• Accuracy in bookkeeping
• Timely posting of entries
• Proper documentation and approvals
• Resolve accounting queries and guide the team on best practices.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and continuously improve accounting processes.
5. Payments & Transaction Control
• Verify vendor payments with invoices, purchase orders, and approvals.
• Review expense bookings and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Monitor receivables, payables, and working capital indicators.
6. MIS, Reporting & Strategic Finance
• Prepare monthly MIS reports for management including:
• Profitability analysis
• Cost trends and variance analysis
• Working capital and cash flow insights
• Support management with financial data for decision-making.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Provide financial insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
7. Systems & Data Management
• Ensure effective use of Accounting ERP systems for accurate reporting and controls.
• Use advanced Excel tools for reconciliation, reporting, and analysis.
• Support automation initiatives and process digitization.
Desired Candidate Profile
• CA / Inter CA with 3–8 years experience (flexible based on level).
• Prior experience in manufacturing or plant accounting preferred.
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and accounting standards and US accounting
Standards also.
• Hands-on exposure to audits, inventory accounting, and MIS reporting.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to lead a small team and interact with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Work Location will be Mumbai
