Job Description

As a WROV Pilot Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining work class remotely operated vehicles (WROVs) used in underwater exploration and operations. Your duties will involve piloting the ROV to perform various tasks such as inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of underwater equipment and structures in industries like oil and gas, marine research, offshore construction, and underwater archaeology. Key Responsibilities: ROV Operation : Pilot the WROV to execute assigned tasks accurately and safely in accordance with project requirements and specifications. This involves maneuvering the ROV through underwater environments using a combination of joysticks and other control interfaces. Equipment Maintenance : Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of the WROV to ensure optimal performance and to identify any issues or malfunctions. Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting as needed, and coordinate with the maintenance team for more extensive repairs. Task Execution : Execute various tasks using the WROV, such as visual inspections, equipment installation, pipeline surveys, seabed mapping, and other underwater operations. Follow operational procedures and safety protocols at all times. Communication : Maintain clear and effective communication with the surface team, including ROV supervisors, engineers, and project managers, to report progress, discuss operational issues, and coordinate task execution. Documentation : Record and maintain accurate logs of ROV operations, including equipment status, task completion, findings, and any incidents or anomalies encountered during operations. Ensure all documentation is complete and submitted in a timely manner. Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations relevant to ROV operations, including those related to diving operations, equipment handling, and emergency protocols. Participate in safety meetings and drills as required.
