We are looking for a Fabric R&D and Sourcing professional to join our fabric team of a US based MNC in Gurugram. Position title : Fabric Technologist Employer : MNC Buying / Liaisoning Office in Gurugram 5 days a week working Schedule. CTC : Rs 6 Lpa to Rs 7 Lpa Qualification: College / Degree holder from Textile & Masters in Fashion Management preferred. Technical education in Textile Science of degree level or equivalent experience in Fabric Merchandising or Quality Control. Experience: 6 years plus in Fabric selection / Fabric Development Practical experience of print, dye and color development, including production. Practical experience of applying proven techniques of quality assurance within the textile industry. Primary Job Responsibilities Work proactively with Merchants, Fabric Managers and test labs to understand fabric performance concerns. Develop and implement practical production solutions with mills prior to fabric commitment. Oversee quality set up control of fabric, resolve production problem related to fabric characteristics, performance and lead-time. Identify creative alternatives and solutions and work with mills implement. Identify potential fabric quality and production issues upfront and resolve prior to production. Work closely with the Fabric Manager to develop the mill matrix and to ensure the right mills are used for the appropriate fabrics. Support Fabric Manager to evaluate and certify mills for capabilities, capacity and quality. Working closely with Design to develop new fabrics. Working with Global RM team for new development, closure on fabric quality and testing issues. Effective communication and proficient in PPT, Excel and Windows. Should have fabric sourcing capabilities and good knowledge of Indian Mill capabilities and their expertise. Strong knowledge of the latest materials and techniques as well as yarn standards and testing specifications. Good communication and networking skill, open to innovative idea and business oriented commercialize the idea to bulk. Pro-active in seeking solutions to all technical issues to provide solutions. Good knowledge on time and action plan of raw material. Good Know how of fabric processing, weaving and new finishes and technology. Good color evaluation ability.
