Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Developer with more than 6 years of expertise in data visualization, business intelligence, and data modeling. The candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights for business decision-making.

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models with a strong focus on data visualization and storytelling.
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
  
• Work on data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure clean and reliable datasets.
  
• Optimize queries, reports, and visualizations for performance and scalability.
  
• Implement row-level security (RLS), user access controls, and best practices in data governance.
  
• Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud-based platforms.
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior BI developers within the team.
  
• Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and recommend improvements in BI strategy.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and data visualization.
  
• Strong expertise in DAX queries, Power Query, and data modeling.
  
• Solid experience in SQL, relational databases, and query optimization.
  
• Proficiency in data visualization best practices (color theory, chart selection, design principles).
  
• Exposure to Azure Data Services (Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, etc.) is a strong plus.
  
• Good understanding of ETL concepts and working with large datasets.
  
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with other visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
  
• Knowledge of Python/R for advanced analytics.
  
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
