Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated VoIP Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of telecommunication technologies, network infrastructure, and voice protocols, ensuring seamless communication systems that meet the companys requirements. Your Role and Responsibilities As a VoIP Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include: VoIP System Design and Implementation: Design and deploy VoIP infrastructure, including PBX systems, gateways, and Session Border Controllers (SBCs). Integrate VoIP systems with existing network infrastructure and third-party applications. Network Optimization and Maintenance: Monitor and optimize VoIP network performance to ensure high availability and low latency. Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption. Configuration and Management: Configure SIP trunks, call routing, and dial plans to support business needs. Manage user accounts, extensions, and system configurations in PBX and VoIP platforms. Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to protect VoIP systems from unauthorized access and attacks. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies for data privacy and security. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, network engineers, and vendors, to support VoIP initiatives. Provide technical support and training to end-users on VoIP systems and features. Required Technical and Professional Expertise To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following skills: VoIP Technologies: Expertise in SIP, H.323, RTP, and other voice protocols. PBX Systems: Hands-on experience with PBX platforms such as Asterisk, FreePBX, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, or Avaya. Network Protocols and Tools: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, QoS, VLAN, and network monitoring tools like Wireshark and Nagios. Cloud and Virtualization: Experience with cloud-based VoIP solutions (e.g., Twilio, Zoom Phone) and virtual environments like VMware or Hyper-V. Security: Knowledge of VoIP security practices, including firewalls, encryption, and VPNs. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, vendors, and stakeholders. Qualification & Experience Required Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field. Professional Experience: 2+ years of experience in VoIP engineering or a similar role. Experience with network infrastructure design and telecommunication systems is highly desirable. Certifications (Preferred): Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Collaboration Certified VoIP Engineer (CVE) Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer Expert ITIL Foundation Certification (for process and service management)
