Java/J2EE Software Engineer Position Overview: We are looking for a talented Java/J2EE Junior Developer with 0-2 years of experience to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of Java/J2EE-based application development, exposure to AWS cloud services, and familiarity with PostgreSQL. You will work closely with senior developers and team leads to build, maintain, and enhance applications while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies. Key Responsibilities: 1. Application Development: Develop, test, and maintain Java/J2EE-based applications, adhering to coding standards and best practices. Collaborate with the team to implement user stories, fix bugs, and improve application performance. 2. Database Management: Write and optimise SQL queries for PostgreSQL databases. 3. AWS Cloud Services Integration: Use AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda in application development and deployment. Gain hands-on experience with AWS SDKs and tools for application hosting and cloud storage. 4. Debugging and Troubleshooting: Analyse and debug application issues reported during testing or production. Work closely with QA teams to resolve defects and ensure application quality. 5. Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and implement solutions. Document application features, database changes, and AWS configurations for future reference. 6. Learning and Growth: Stay updated with the latest trends in Java development, AWS services, and PostgreSQL features. Participate in training and mentoring sessions to enhance technical skills. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of Java and J2EE frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate. Basic knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.) and their usage in application development. Familiarity with PostgreSQL and SQL query writing. Experience with RESTful API development and integration. Exposure to version control tools like Git. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and teamwork skills. Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to team success. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or frameworks like Angular/React. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline).
