1. Job Summary
The MEPF Design Engineer will support the design phase of international MEP projects by producing high-quality technical drawings, calculations, and documentation. This remote position requires an engineer capable of handling both US Building Codes and Middle Eastern (UAE/KSA) Regulations. You will collaborate closely with the Project Manager (Design) to ensure all deliverables are precise, sustainable, and compliant with local authorities.
2. Responsibilities
a. Design & Technical Execution

• Report directly to the Project Manager (Design).
• Prepare detailed MEP design drawings, specifications, and calculations for both US-based projects (complying with IBC, NFPA, NEC, and ASHRAE) and Middle East projects (complying with UAE/KSA regulations).
• Develop design solutions aligned with any sustainability standards: LEED (US/International), Estidama/Al Sa'fat (UAE), Mostadam (KSA), etc.
• Ensure all design outputs comply with:
• For UAE / KSA projects: UAE / KSA laws and municipality regulations (e.g., DM, DEWA, Riyadh Municipality, Jeddah Municipality, Saudi Electricity Company, Civil Defense).
• For US projects: NFPA, IPC, IMC, NEC, and ASHRAE standards.

• Use design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create accurate and detailed technical drawings.

b. Project Support

• Support the Project Manager (Design) in coordinating with other consultants and government authorities for design approvals.
• Participate in technical meetings to address design issues and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Contribute to value engineering efforts to optimize design efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation and deliverables.

c. Compliance & Quality Control

• Conduct regular quality checks on design outputs to ensure compliance with company design standards, US / UAE / KSA standards and project specifications.
• Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory submissions and inspections.

d. Communication

• Maintain fluent, professional English communication (written and verbal) with the design team and other project stakeholders.
• Provide technical input during project discussions and reviews.

e. Additional Duties

• Perform other professional tasks assigned by the Project Manager (Design) to support project delivery and company objectives in the US / UAE / KSA market.

4. Candidate Requirements
Prerequisite:

• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Proven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role in MEPF design.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in MEP design projects, preferably in the US / UAE / KSA / Gulf region.
• Knowledge of US / UAE / KSA construction laws, building codes, and standards (US: NFPA, IPC, IMC, NEC, and ASHRAE standards. UAE / KSA: Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Saudi Building Code, Saudi Electricity Company, Civil Defense, etc.).
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Engineering card holder.
• Flexibility to work extended hours as required.

Remote Work & Technical Infrastructure Requirement

• As a remote position, the candidate will self-equip a high-performance PC or Laptop capable of running intensive design software smoothly (e.g., Revit 2024+, BIM 360, AutoCAD, and HAP).
• Reliable, high-speed internet connection suitable for video conferencing and large file uploads/downloads.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting strict project deadlines across different time zones.
