Job Title: Apparel (Fashion) Designer Men's Casual, Informal, and Smart Wear Location: Tiny Industry, Khadi Machine chowk, Kondhwa Bk Pune 411048 Reports To: Managing Director (Day-to-Day) and Management Board (Strategic Goals) Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Apparel (Fashion) Designer to drive the design and development of our men's casual, informal, and smart wear collections. This role requires a strong background in apparel design preferably in mens wear, strategic design thinking, and passion for leadership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the creative vision, managing the end-to-end design process, sampling and season’s fashion development, ensuring brand alignment, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver exceptional products aligned with the company’s vision and objectives. Key Responsibilities: 1. Creative Direction: Drive the creative vision for the men’s wear category, ensuring alignment with brand identity and business goals. Conduct in-depth research on global and domestic fashion trends, customer preferences, and market dynamics to develop trend-forward and innovative designs. Oversee the conceptualization and creation of original designs, patterns, and color stories for each season. 2. Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement design strategies that align with the company’s marketing and sales objectives. Lead the end-to-end design and development process, from concept to sampling, sourcing, and production. 3. Material and Resource Management: Oversee fabric selection, ensuring materials meet design, quality, and cost standards. Collaborate with sourcing teams to secure high-quality fabrics and trims. 4. Project and Team Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, sourcing, production, and marketing, to ensure seamless execution of collections. Manage timelines and budgets for multiple projects while maintaining design excellence. Mentor and guide junior designers and team members, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation. 5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the marketing team to align product designs with brand positioning and promotional strategies. Collaborate with vendors and production teams to maintain consistency and quality throughout the production process. Present collections and strategic plans to the Management Board for approval and feedback. 6. Quality and Efficiency: Monitor production processes to ensure designs are executed to the highest quality standards. Conduct quality checks and troubleshoot issues to maintain product consistency. Qualifications and Experience: Education: Bachelor’s or preferably Master’s degree in Fashion Design or equivalent from a reputed institution. Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in similar role/mandate. A couple of years in men’s wear design will be advantageous. Proven track record of designing and delivering commercially successful collections. Skills and Competencies: Strong creative vision with a deep understanding of casual, informal, and smart wear categories, preferably men’s wear. Expertise in trend forecasting, fabric selection, pattern making, and garment construction. Exceptional project management and leadership skills. Proficiency in design software and tools as required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Business acumen with the ability to balance creativity with commercial objectives. Ready and passionate to be groomed for senior leadership role in the future Reporting Structure: Day-to-Day Operations: Reports to the Managing Director. Strategic Oversight: Reports to the Management Board for short, medium, and long-term planning and execution goals.
