Assistant Merchandiser (Apparel)

Job Description

Should have good product knowledge and costing knowledge. Should have ability to follow up through the entire merchandising process from development to shipping. Should have ability to coordinate with design, PD & vendors for sample developments. Should be able to liaison with vendors and coordinate development & sample costing as per the buyers requirements. Manage order specifications, costing, price negotiation with suppliers. Timely order follow up with vendors as per the T & A and maintaining data files accurately for status review. Work closely with the Planning /Compliance/QA Teams to place and monitor progress of the orders Work with Logistics team to ensure timely dispatch and deliveries. Profile and skills required: Good Product Knowledge Strong verbal and written communication Ability to understand the different markets and secure customers confidence Must be very proficient in MS office including in-depth knowledge of excel and power point. Previous buying office experience is a plus. Must have handled woven and knits categories for both Domestic and International brands/retailers
