Job Description

Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information, resolve accounting issues, and provide support as needed. Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors during the audit process. Develop and implement effective financial controls and procedures to ensure adherence to company policies and minimize the risk of fraud or errors. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations, standards, and best practices, and recommend necessary modifications to existing processes to ensure compliance. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making, cost reduction, and profitability enhancement. Assist in the development and implementation of financial software system and tools to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Requirements and skills Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably in the financial services industry or a housing finance company. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation laws in India. Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with Tally is desirable. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to the housing finance industry in India would be beneficial.
