Role Overview: Sr. BIM Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. BIM Automation Engineer to join our dynamic Digital Factory team. This role is ideal for a passionate professional with a deep understanding of BIM tools and automation, particularly using Dynamo, Revit API, and AEC plugin development.

You will play a key role in automating workflows, building plugins, and enabling digital transformation across the AEC space.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AEC software extensions (Add-ins/Plugins)
• Develop and maintain automation tools using Dynamo and Revit API
• Collaborate with BIM managers and engineers to identify pain points and automation needs
• Implement, test, and deploy custom scripts and plugins
• Optimize and troubleshoot automation tools for performance and reliability
• Contribute to reusable code libraries and maintain high-quality code standards
• Train internal teams on tools and best practices
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in BIM automation
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 38 years of experience in AEC plugin development
• Hands-on experience with Autodesk tools including:
• Revit API, Civil 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Mensura, Covadis
• Strong knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D API, and LISP
• Excellent programming knowledge in C#, Python, .NET, WPF, and Dynamo
• Understanding of design standards, IFC formats, and BIM collaboration workflows
• Comfortable working in Visual Studio, GitLab, and agile environments
• Strong analytical and debugging skills

Preferred Skills (Bonus Points!)

• Experience with Autodesk Forge, Rhino/Grasshopper, and Autodesk Platform Services
• Exposure to ProjectWise API, PowerShell scripting, and Docker/Kubernetes
• Familiarity with SQL (MSSQL/PostgreSQL) and Web API integrations
• Knowledge of collaborative BIM platforms, automation strategies, and engineering workflows
