JOB ROLE
Specialist Distribution Management & Inventory Planning
JOB PURPOSE To support efficient and reliable distribution operations by ensuring timely stock movement, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and adhering to defined distribution norms across branch warehouses. The role focuses on coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, tracking inventory and stock movements, and addressing operational challenges to enable consistent product availability and smooth execution of supply chain activities, while ensuring compliance with established processes and guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Distribution Planning & Replenishment
- BPR (Buffer Penetration Report) Management
Support analysis of sales forecasts, market trends, and historical data to track inventory levels and enable product availability at branch warehouses. - Monthly Consensus Meeting
Participate in demand and supply discussions with Sales & Marketing and share inputs to highlight operational challenges. - Monthly S&OP Meeting
Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to stay aligned with business priorities and planning decisions. - Address Challenges in Norm Management
Coordinate with sales, marketing, and production teams to support adjustments in plans for promotions, new product launches, and market changes. - Norms & Material Management
Support implementation and monitoring of norms for 15 branches and 2 Central Warehouses, including communicating norms, tracking performance, and highlighting deviations based on actual sales trends.
Inventory Management
- Demand Fulfillment
Support product availability to meet branch demand and assist in maintaining balanced stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts. - Visibility
Maintain and track accurate inventory data across the supply chain. Coordinate with the supply planning team to align inventory with purchase agreements. - Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with sales and logistics teams to align inventory as per branch demand, and communicate stock availability and replenishment updates. - Process Efficiency
Use available tools for routine inventory activities to improve accuracy and reduce manual errors.
Risk Management and Contingency Planning
- Risk Identification
Identify potential risks in distribution planning and escalate concerns while supporting mitigation actions. - Disruption Management
Support handling of supply chain disruptions such as supplier delays, unforeseen events, or demand fluctuations by coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Technology Utilization
Use existing systems and planning tools to support distribution planning, replenishment, and inventory management activities. - Best Practices Awareness
Stay updated on relevant industry practices and apply learnings within the scope of the role.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Reporting Support
Prepare and maintain dashboards and reports to support visibility for stakeholders. - Performance Tracking
Monitor performance trends and highlight issues related to stockouts or excess inventory for further action.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- B.E/ BTech (Mechanical)
- MBA (Operations Production & Materials Management)
