About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with 23 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL database management and optimization. The ideal candidate will have experience with AWS RDS, database performance tuning, and query optimization, as well as exposure to database migration from Oracle or MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL.

This role requires close collaboration with the application and development teams to ensure database reliability, performance, and scalability. The DBA will also play a key role in supporting both logical and physical database design, implementing best practices for data integrity, availability, and security.

Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases across development, staging, and production environments.

• Required Skills & Qualifications

1. 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.

2. Experience managing databases on AWS RDS.

3. Strong understanding of SQL, query optimization, and database performance tuning.

4. Experience with database migration from Oracle or MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL.

5. Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery strategies, and replication.

6. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell or Python.

7. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Good-to-Have Skills

1. Experience with AWS Cloud Services (EC2, S3).

2. Working knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL Server, or MySQL.

3. Familiarity with database monitoring tools (pgBadger, Prometheus, Grafana).

4. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty, PostgreSQL DBA Certification).

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

2. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty, PostgreSQL DBA Certification) are a plus.
