Job Description

The Cutover Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the entire "cutover" process during a Workday implementation project to facilitate a smooth transition from the legacy system to the new Workday platform. Activities include managing data migration, coordinating activities across various teams, and mitigating risks throughout the critical go-live phase, all while adhering to project timelines and deliverables.

Key responsibilities of a Workday Cutover Manager:

• Develop and execute cutover plans: Create detailed cutover plans, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, and contingency strategies to guide the transition to Workday.


• Data migration management: Oversee the data migration process from legacy systems to Workday, ensuring data quality, cleansing, and validation.


• Stakeholder coordination: Collaborate with various stakeholders including business owners, technical teams, project managers, and end-users to align cutover activities and address concerns.


• Risk assessment and mitigation: Identify potential risks during the cutover phase and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions.


• Cutover dry runs and rehearsals: Organize and facilitate practice runs to test processes, identify issues, and ensure readiness for the live transition.


• Change management communication: Communicate cutover plans, updates, and key milestones to all affected employees to manage expectations and minimize disruption.


• Command center operations: Lead the cutover command center during the go-live period, resolving issues and coordinating responses to real-time challenges.


• Post-cutover support: Monitor the system post-implementation to address any issues and ensure a successful transition to Workday.

Required skills and experience:

• Strong project management skills with experience managing complex implementations


• In-depth knowledge of Workday functionalities and data structures


• Expertise in data migration strategies and techniques


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities


• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines


• Technical proficiency in related tools and systems


• Previous experience with large-scale system implementations, preferably within multiple ERP platform domains
