Job Summary
The Senior Procurement Executive is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for industrial building and infrastructure projects. The role ensures timely availability of construction materials, machinery, equipment, and subcontractor services at the most cost-effective terms, while maintaining compliance with project specifications, budgets, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-based procurement strategies aligned with cost, quality, and delivery goals.
- Prepare RFQs/RFPs, evaluate quotations, negotiate terms, and finalize vendor agreements.
- Source and manage vendors for civil, structural steel, MEP, piping, and finishing works materials.
- Ensure timely procurement of industrial construction materials such as cement, steel, machinery, tools, consumables, and electrical/mechanical components.
- Liaise with the project, planning, and site teams to identify procurement needs and forecast requirements to prevent project delays.
- Maintain procurement logs and monitor material delivery schedules to align with construction deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contract terms, and statutory requirements.
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers based on technical, commercial, and quality criteria.
- Prepare and maintain purchase orders, vendor performance reports, and project procurement summaries.
- Support cost control and value engineering initiatives to optimize project budgets.
- Collaborate with logistics and stores for material tracking, GRN validation, and inventory reconciliation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
- 610 years of procurement experience, preferably in EPC, industrial, or infrastructure construction companies.
- Proven experience in procurement of large-scale industrial materials and subcontract services.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/procurement software and MS Excel for cost tracking and reporting.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
- Understanding of commercial terms, taxation (GST, freight, insurance), and contract management.
- Preference for candidates with experience in industrial facility, plant, or factory construction projects.
