Electrocon Consumer Electronics (I) Ltd as known today, was established as a proprietorship firm in the year 1997 by the name Electrocon Enterprises and its primary business activity was erection, commissioning and maintenance of industrial power electronics control panels. In the year 2000, this proprietorship firm was appointed as a distributor of Tatafone for western suburbs of Mumbai and it also established a well-equipped telecom service center. When Tatafone ceased its operations in the year 2001, most of the distributors went out of business. Seeing the vacuum in the market and with an intent to support these distributors, our founder got in touch with Tatafones OEM partner Gaoxinqi Electronics Ltd. in China, who had leftover stock and agreed to supply under our Brand Etel.
