Job Title: AGM / DGM PPIC (Domestic Market)

Direct Reports: PPIC Managers, Lead Planners, Warehouse & Logistics Heads

Qualification: Bachelors degree with MBA/PGDM is a plus

Experience: Minimum 15 years

Job Summary:

  • The AGM / DGM PPIC is a senior leadership role responsible for balancing plant capacity, market demand, and raw/packaging material availability to ensure zero-stockout, high-OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing (OSD, Injectables, or APIs). The role drives Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and aligns cross-functional teams including Production, Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Procurement, and Commercial/Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Production Planning & S&OP:

  • Lead and direct the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycles.
  • Align long-term and short-term production forecasts with market demand, export commitments, and plant capacity constraints.
  • Oversee batch-wise production sequencing for sterile, OSD (Oral Solid Dosage), or API lines to minimize changeover losses and cleaning validation downtime.

Inventory & Working Capital Management:

  • Establish and monitor optimal inventory norms for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), excipients, primary/secondary packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Drive programs to reduce slow-moving, non-moving (SLOB), and near-expiry stock while preventing line stoppages.

Material Requirement Planning (MRP) & Procurement Coordination:

  • Oversee enterprise-wide MRP execution via ERP systems (e.g., SAP PP/MM modules).
  • Coordinate with strategic sourcing and procurement to maintain safety stocks for critical, long-lead-time import materials and vendor compliance.

Regulatory & GMP Compliance:

  • Ensure all planning, quarantine, release tracking, and batch documentation workflows comply with cGMP, GDP, and global regulatory standards (USFDA, EMA, MHRA, WHO-GMP).
  • Participate in internal, customer, and statutory plant audits relating to supply chain and inventory traceability.

Cross-Functional Leadership & MIS:

  • Lead regular review meetings with QA/QC to fast-track analytical testing and material release bottlenecks.
  • Track and present key performance indicators (KPIs) to executive leadership, including Schedule Adherence, Inventory Turnover Ratio (ITR), On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery, and forecast accuracy.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Industrial/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
  • Master’s degree or MBA in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Materials Management preferred.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in PPIC, Supply Chain, or Plant Operations within a regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 4 – 5 years in a senior leadership or departmental head capacity.

Technical & Soft Skills:

  • Deep expertise in SAP (PP/MM/APO) or equivalent ERP manufacturing systems.
  • Strong mastery of pharmaceutical manufacturing workflows (Batch processing, packing lines,sterile/OSD constraints).
  • High analytical capability, data visualization (Power BI/Excel), and root-cause problem-solving (CAPA, Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, team mentorship, and negotiation skills.
