Job Description
Location: Wada-Manor Road, Maharashtra
Job Summary
The Store In-Charge Packaging Material Stores shall be responsible for the end-to-end management of packaging material inventory at the manufacturing facility. The role involves receipt, storage, inventory control, issuance, documentation, stock reconciliation, and compliance with company policies and food safety standards to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Store Operations
- Manage the receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of packaging materials.
- Ensure proper identification, segregation, and storage of all packaging materials.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to support production requirements.
- Monitor stock movement and prevent stock-outs, excess inventory, and material obsolescence.
- Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices are followed wherever applicable.
Goods Receipt & Documentation
- Verify incoming materials against Purchase Orders, Delivery Challans, and GRNs.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance for material inspection and release.
- Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and stock adjustments.
- Ensure timely system entries in ERP/software and maintain proper documentation.
Production Support
- Issue packaging materials to production as per approved requisitions.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Quality teams.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production disruptions.
Inventory Control & Reconciliation
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock verification.
- Reconcile physical stock with ERP/system records.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, shortages, damages, and losses.
- Prepare MIS reports relating to inventory status, consumption, ageing, and slow-moving items.
Compliance & Housekeeping
- Ensure adherence to GMP, HACCP, FSSAI, food safety, and company quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper housekeeping within the store area.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and support internal and external audits.
- Implement measures to minimize material wastage and inventory losses.
Team & Process Management
- Supervise store assistants, loaders, and contract manpower, if applicable.
- Ensure discipline, productivity, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and inventory optimization.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Diploma/Degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field will be preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in store operations.
- Experience in handling packaging material stores in a Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Consumer Goods, Packaging, or related Distribution environment is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience in inventory management, stock reconciliation, and ERP systems.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of storekeeping and inventory control practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Understanding of FIFO, FEFO, GRN, stock audits, and inventory reporting.
- Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.

- Inventory accuracy.
- Timely material availability to production.
- Reduction in stock discrepancies and losses.
- Compliance with audit and food safety requirements.
- Timely completion of stock reconciliations and reporting.
- Effective inventory utilization and control of slow/non-moving stock.
Preferred Industry Background: Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Consumer Goods, Packaging Industry, Dairy, Beverages, Bakery, Confectionery, Edible Oils, Spices, or related distribution/supply chain operations
